“Meta’s second California-specific super PAC, which the social media giant plied with $20 million last year, entered 2026 with $19.7 million in cash on hand, according to filings to the Secretary of State’s office that are expected to be made public Monday.
The committee plans to support candidates for state offices regardless of party and has not ruled out spending on California’s crowded gubernatorial race. Brian Rice, Meta’s vice president of public policy, is heading it up.
A Meta spokesperson said it’s possible the company will inject more money into the two PACs as the year progresses, but that has yet to be determined.
Meta’s infusion of cash into the two super PACs comes amid a broader shift in strategy that has spawned a string of new political committees in California over the last week, backed by millions of dollars from tech billionaires and companies.”
